Hayden Panettiere, The 'HD Hottie'

Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Hayden Panettiere who stars tonight in high-def on Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy at 10 p.m. ET on the Lifetime Movie Network.

The 22-year-old actress, who was born in Palisades, New York, started as a child actress in such daytime soap operas as One Life to Live and The Guiding Light. She quickly captured a few movie roles (A Bug's Life, Remember the Titans), but it was her casting as the cheerleader in NBC's Heroes that made her a star.

Since Heroes, Hayden has stretched her wings, cutting an album and taking a role in the movies When a Stranger Calls Back and I Love You, Beth Cooper. (The latter is now available on Blu-ray.)

Hayden returned for a fourth season of Heroes, but the show was cancelled in early 2010. Hayden has been keeping herself busy filming Scream 4, which is now on Blu-ray, and earlier this year she starred as Amanda Knox, the college student convicted of murder in Italy but who was released this week.
